Các dạng câu của thì hiện tại đơn
Thì hiện tại đơn là một trong những dạng của thì hiện tại đơn trong tiếng Anh. Nó được sử dụng để mô tả thói quen, tình huống không thể thay đổi, sở thích, sự thật chung và sự kiện cố định đã được sắp xếp.
- Để thể hiện thói quen, sự thật chung, hành động lặp đi lặp lại hoặc tình huống không thay đổi, cảm xúc và mong muốn:
- I drink milk for breakfast. (thói quen);
- I work in a foreign company. (tình hình không thay đổi);
- The sun rises at east. (sự thật chung).
- Để chỉ dẫn hoặc chỉ đường:
- Go ahead 500 meters, then you turn right.
- Để thể hiện sự sắp xếp cố định, hiện tại hoặc tương lai:
- I go to school in 5 minutes.
- Để diễn đạt thời gian trong tương lai, sau một số liên từ: sau khi, khi nào, trước đó, ngay khi, cho đến khi :
- He'll give it to you next Saturday when you come.

Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn
- Trạng từ chỉ tần suất: always; often; usually; regularly; frequently; sometimes; seldom; hardly; rarely; never…
- Các cụm từ chỉ thời gian khác như: every day; every week; every year; on Mondays; daily; monthly; once/ twice/ three times….. a day/ week/ month/ year.
2. Một số lưu ý khi sử dụng động từ ở thì hiện tại đơn
Cách phát âm đuôi -s
- Ở ngôi thứ ba số ít, động từ luôn kết thúc bằng -s.
- Ví dụ: Mary wants, Jack pulls, Na watches, he swims, she listens…
- Các dạng câu hỏi và phủ định sử dụng DOES (= ngôi thứ ba của trợ từ 'DO') + nguyên thể của động từ.
- Ví dụ: Does he cry?; Does Tu know?; Does Phu hear?...
- Động từ kết thúc bằng -y : ngôi thứ ba chuyển từ -y thành -ies :
Ví dụ:
- cry -> cries;
- fly -> flies;
- study -> studies;
- carry -> carries.
Ngoại lệ: nếu có một nguyên âm trước - y : play -> plays , pray -> prays
- Thêm -es vào các động từ kết thúc bằng: -ss, -x, -sh, -ch:
Ví dụ:
- pass ->passes;
- catch -> catches;
- fix -> fixes;
- push -> pushes
